Association of Corporate Counsel unveils mentor match program

The Association of Corporate Counsel has unveiled its Mentor Match Program, allowing members to seek mentors or mentees based on criteria like skills and experience.

The platform, which is free for all ACC members, leverages the association’s 48,000+ strong global network across over 100 countries. Members can cultivate local and international connections based on their individual needs.

“ACC members have a vast range of legal and in-house knowledge across all career levels and organizations. Their eagerness to share insights is what makes our community strong. We’re excited to launch the ACC Mentor Match Program to turn these connections into valuable professional relationships,” ACC president and CEO Veta T. Richardson said in a statement.

According to the ACC, mentors and mentees can be matched based on career goals, expertise, and aspirations. The association’s mentor network can tackle topics like handling complex career decisions, developing essential leadership skills, and achieving work-life balance while progressing one’s career.

“This program helps connect in-house legal professionals across all experience levels and team sizes. By fostering mentor-mentee relationships beyond traditional networking, we create a strong platform for growth, learning, and career development,” Richardson said.

Last October, the ACC also launched the ACC Cybersecurity Toolkit for In-house Lawyers in response to cybersecurity threats being a top concern for chief legal officers. The toolkit was developed with input from ACC members worldwide and covered aspects like cybersecurity practices assessment, training, data breach preparation, cybersecurity insurance, cyber incident response, and artificial intelligence.

The ACC IT, Privacy & e-Commerce Network also held monthly live discussions and responded to questions posed in a dedicated e-forum. In addition, the ACC Foundation Cybersecurity Summit was held from March 24 to 25 this year in Los Angeles.

The ACC also unveiled career advancement and well-being toolkits last September and August. These toolkits addressed role transitions and self-care techniques, among others.
