The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) has announced changes to its Board of Directors, recognizing three outgoing board members and outlining plans for leadership transitions in the coming year.
Vice president Farrah Pepper, education advisory committee co-leader Dan Yi, and former president Mike Haven are stepping down from their board roles. Haven, who joined the board in 2019 and served as president during the pandemic, concluded his term early to focus on his role as global head of legal operations at Meta. During his tenure, Haven worked to expand CLOC's global presence and refine its operations.
Pepper, chief legal innovation counsel at Marsh McLennan, joined the board in 2021 and became vice president in 2023. She led initiatives like the State of the Industry survey relaunch and contributed to member engagement through thought leadership activities. Yi, a senior government official and lecturer at Harvard Law School, also joined the board in 2021. He played a key role in developing the CLOC Academy and other educational programs.
"These three leaders have each contributed significantly to CLOC's progress," Jenn McCarron, CLOC president, said in a statement. "They've challenged us to think differently and raised the bar for what CLOC and legal ops professionals can accomplish. I am deeply grateful for their passion and all they've contributed to our organization. We look forward to witnessing their continued and long-lasting impact on the CLOC community."
To facilitate the transition, the CLOC board has formed a nominating committee, which includes executive director Oyango Snell. The committee will oversee the selection process for new board members, with further details expected in January.
"As we gear up for our 10th year, I'm eager to help put rigour into the process and work to honour our past leaders like Mike, Farrah and Dan while welcoming new voices and perspectives to the board who reflect our growing and diverse legal ecosystem," Snell said.
