Telecom service provider Beanfield has recently announced the appointment of Fabien Fourmanoit as its new chief legal and regulatory officer and corporate secretary.
Fourmanoit brings close to 20 years of legal experience within the telecommunications and IT sectors, with expertise spanning contract negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, consumer protection law, advertising and marketing law, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Before joining Beanfield, Fourmanoit served as vice president of legal at Xplore Inc., a broadband service provider focused on delivering connectivity to rural communities. During his tenure, he played a role in advancing the company’s growth strategy, supporting both organic expansion and key mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his time at Xplore, Fourmanoit spent nearly 13 years at Bell Canada as senior legal counsel, where he held positions in Montreal and Toronto, contributing to a range of legal matters across multiple areas of the company. He began his legal career as an articling student at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Montreal.
In addition to his legal accomplishments, Fourmanoit has expanded his professional skill set by completing the Newfield Ontology Coaching course. He also serves as a board member at Ouverti, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing and incubating open-source, personalized applications to support social enterprises.
Fourmanoit graduated from McGill University with distinction in civil and common law. During his time there, he served as editor-in-chief of the McGill Law Journal. He remains engaged with the institution as a member of its Advisory Board. In 2020, Fourmanoit was recognized with the Lexpert Rising Star award.
Founded in 1988, Beanfield builds, owns, and operates one of the largest independent fibre-optic networks in Toronto and Montreal, connecting over 3,000 commercial and residential buildings.
“One of the key things that attracted me to Beanfield is that it is just as much about building communities as it is about building network infrastructure,” Fourmanoit says. “As a trained leadership coach, that mission, which is very much about empowering Canadians of all walks of life, resonates with me greatly.”
Fourmanoit expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from the Beanfield team and shared his excitement about contributing to creating better-connected urban communities in Canada.
