Nancy Shapiro was called to the Bar in 1998 and is a partner with Koskie Minsky where her practice is devoted exclusively to employment law. Nancy has been selected for the third time as one of Lexpert's 2024 Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, in the area of Employment Law. Nancy works with employers and employees in a wide variety of non-unionized employment matters. Nancy's services include the full cycle of an employment relationship including: hiring, discipline, disability management, performance management, and human rights through to termination. She is frequently engaged in the preparation and negotiation of employment contracts, manuals and policies, legislative compliance, restructuring, workplace investigations, as well as litigation and appellant work. Nancy acts on cases of wrongful dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination, constructive dismissal, directors' and officers' liability and errors and omissions issues, and partnership/shareholder disputes in the employment context. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and author of many employment-related articles. She was recognized by Best Lawyers as the 2023 “Lawyer of the Year” for Labour and Employment Law and as well as by Chambers Canada for Employment & Labour: Non-Unionised Employees.
