Aniko Pelland is a partner in the Corporate Group at Stikeman Elliott LLP in Montréal. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance and securities law compliance matters. Aniko’s experience includes advising Canadian and foreign clients in acquisitions, business combinations, reorganizations, general commercial negotiations, public and private offerings of equity and debt as well as governance matters.
Over the years, he has diversified his expertise by representing clients in a variety of local, cross-border, private and public M&A and financing transactions, as well as special situations, including reorganizations, proxy fights and unsolicited approaches.
Aniko is Chair of the firm’s Montréal office’s students and stagiaires committee, where he provides guidance, helps in the recruitment and interviewing process, and in selecting potential candidates. He also played a key role in establishing the firm’s SE University program, which provides training on various corporate topics for students, stagiaires and young associates to ensure that all young firm members realize their full potential. On a personal level, Aniko has been a strong supporter of the CHU Sainte-Justine hospital and has participated in various fundraising activities for its Foundation over the years.
