Partner in Energy and Litigation Sections and co-Chair of Energy Group. Practice focuses on energy regulatory law and litigation. Energy regulatory practice includes representing public agencies (Ontario IESO, Ontario Energy Board) and private sector companies (generators, transmitters, developers) before administrative tribunals (National Energy Board, Ontario Energy Board, BC Utilities Commission) and in review and appeal proceedings before the Ontario Divisional Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. Acts as independent prosecution counsel in regulatory enforcement matters and in complex commercial litigation disputes. In 2002, spent a year's secondment at IESO as counsel to IESO during the lead-up to and for eight months following the opening of the restructured Ontario electricity market. Co-author of Energy Regulation in Ontario, the leading Ontario text on energy regulatory law.
