Partner and former practice group leader of the firm's Corporate Finance Group, Margaret practises in the areas of corporate and securities law, including corporate governance, investments for financial institutions and pension plans, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, public financings, acquisition financings, private placements, proxy solicitations, corporate reorganizations and general corporate work. Margaret has acted as counsel to one of Canada's largest gas distribution utilities, one of Canada's largest pension plans, as well as numerous public and private industrial companies. Margaret regularly advises the boards of directors of public, private and public sector not-for-profit companies on corporate governance and other matters. She holds the Institute of Corporate Directors ICDD designation. She is a former member of the Securities Advisory Council of the Ontario Securities Commission and an active member of Canada's Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) and Women in Capital Markets. Margaret is a Director of Horizon Utilities Corporation and Lakefield College School and a former director of Alpine Ontario Alpin, the provincial governing body for the sport of alpine ski racing in Ontario.
