Cable Satisfaction International Inc. (Csii) completed a $75 million financing on July 31, 2001, comprised of a $37.5 million public offering and a concurrent private placement with CDP Capital Communications, a subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, for another $37.5 million.
The syndicate of underwriters for the public offering was jointly led by Canaccord Capital Corporation, CIBC World Markets Inc. and TD Securities Inc., and included National Bank Financial. Csii will use the proceeds of this financing to fund the development and construction of its national fibre-optic backbone and regional networks in Portugal.
François de Billy, in-house counsel at Csii, was assisted by a team from Lavery, de Billy consisting of René Branchaud, Michel Servant and Larry Markowitz. Franziska Ruf and Louis Morisset of Stikeman Elliott acted as counsel to the underwriters under the public offering and Robert Y. Girard and Valérie Douville of Desjardins Ducharme Stein Monast represented CDP Capital Communications for the private placement.
