On February 16, 2023, Lithium Americas Corp. and General Motors held the initial closing under their US$650 Million equity investment and supply agreement transaction. At the closing, General Motors completed the first tranche of its equity investment commitment, by subscribing for US$320 million of common shares of Lithium Americas to acquire 9.999 percent of Lithium Americas’ issued share capital, and the parties entered into an offtake agreement for the sale to General Motors of all lithium carbonate produced on stage 1 of the Thacker Pass Project and an investor rights agreement.
