Extensive experience in structuring investment funds and managers, including trusts, partnerships, corporations, hedge funds, offshore entities, REITs, and private equity. Experienced in all tax issues related to public and private funds. BLG is the exclusive Canadian member of Taxand; Craig is a member of the Taxand General Assembly and serves as the lead relationship partner for BLG. In addition, Craig is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, as well as the Taxation Committee of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada. On February 23, 2017, Canada Housing Trust No. 1 completed a two-tranche debt financing consisting of the issuance of Floating Rate Canada Mortgage Bonds, Series 75 (Re-Opening), in an aggregate principal amount of $3 billion and 2.35-per-cent Mortgage Bonds, Series 77, in an aggregate principal amount of $2.5 million for a combined total of $5.5 billion of Canada Mortgage Bonds, which were provided with Canada’s sovereign guarantee through Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. (CMHC).
