Eric Dufour focuses on competition law and foreign investment reviews. He provides clients with advice relating to mergers, joint ventures, commercial arrangements, litigation, and compliance matters concerning the Competition Act and the Investment Canada Act. In addition, he provides advice and guidance in respect to cartel investigations and class actions grounded on the Competition Act. He regularly deals with the Competition Bureau and the investment review division of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and the cultural sector investment review branch of Canadian Heritage. He is one of the few Canadian lawyers to successfully guide a client through a contested national security review under the Investment Canada Act. He has extensive experience with clients in diverse sectors including financial services, transportation, electricity, publishing, oil and gas, forestry, agriculture, metals, communications, advertising, food and beverage, manufacturing, retail, and information technology. Prior to joining Miller Thomson, he worked in another leading competition law group in Toronto and has also worked in the mergers branch of the Competition Bureau.
