Greg Peterson is a partner and head of Gowling WLG’s Corporate Finance, M&A and Private Equity Group in the firm’s Calgary office. He is also the national co-leader of the firm’s Governance, Activism & Investigations Group. His practice focuses on company matters particularly M&A, dispositions, plans of arrangements, reorganizations, going-private transactions, private placements and asset and share purchase & sale agreements. He represents private and public companies at all stages of their development, from IPOs to multibillion-dollar market capitalizations. Greg has extensive experience in private equity transactions and public financings, including equity, debt and venture capital financings. His practice caters to both Canadian companies and international companies doing business in Canada in industry sectors including energy, tech, cannabis, manufacturing, life sciences, biotech and sports. He has acted as a director and/or officer of many of his clients, providing advice on corporate governance, stock exchange listings, regulatory compliance and conflict of interest situations. In 2023, Greg was appointed to the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He has been recognized in Chambers Canada, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and the Legal 500 Canada.
