Practice focuses exclusively on advising Canadian pension funds and their asset managers on structuring investments and other activities around the world to comply with the pension fund’s unique governing legislation and applicable Canadian pension legislation. He routinely acts as lead pension investment counsel on both domestic and international acquisitions in the areas of private equity, infrastructure and real estate, as well as fund investments, platform investments and co-investments, for many of Canada’s most respected pension fund investors including CPP Investments (formerly Canada Pension Plan Investment Board), OMERS, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, OPTrust, Oxford Properties and University Pension Plan Ontario. Scott serves on the Board of Directors of Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services, a multi-service, not-for-profit agency that serves more than 10,000 of Toronto’s most vulnerable and at-risk community members annually with a view to helping create “a city where everyone thrives”. In addition to his Board membership, Scott also serves on Dixon Hall’s Executive Committee and is the Chair of its Governance Committee. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1998.
