Sylvie Bouvette is a senior partner in BLG's Commercial Real Estate Group. She represents sellers, purchasers, and joint ventures in real estate transactions as well as creditors and debtors in connection with the financing of major real estate complexes. She has headed some of the largest scale real estate transactions (hotels, shopping centres, office buildings, multi-residential properties, and senior housing residences), as well as putting in place very complex real estate structures and negotiating partnership/co-ownership arrangements. Sylvie also represents developers and lenders of renewable energy projects, including hydroelectric projects, wind farms, and biomass plants. Her expertise and the nature of her work lead to her supervision and coordination of multidisciplinary teams. She often represents pension funds, REITs, public and private companies, and financial institutions. Sylvie obtained her LLB from the Université de Montréal in 1985 and was called to the Québec Bar in 1986.
