Ted Betts is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office, head of the firm’s infrastructure and construction sector group and co-head of its transportation and mobility sector group. Certified by the LSO as a specialist in construction law, he acts on all aspects of tendering, negotiating, and drafting of construction contracts, project management, financing, and commercial contracting. His practice focuses on large-scale construction, infrastructure, and development projects, particularly power generation, transportation, real estate development, city-building projects, and P3s. He acts for owners, contractors, consultants, procurement agencies, ministries, municipalities, and other public sector organizations. He has drafted/negotiated all types of contracts and project structures, including construction management, design-build, EPC/EPCM, consulting agreements, and progressive design-build and integrated project delivery projects. He supervises the delivery of project documents, regulatory and government approvals, project and partner structuring, OHS planning, and insurance advice.
