Caroline is a partner who practises in the areas of pension, employee benefits and taxation law. Caroline is involved in all aspects of pension, employee benefits and compensation issues, and related investment arrangements. Caroline advises private and public sector employers, financial institutions and consulting firms on cross-border, pension, tax, trust and benefit issues arising in connection with cross-border situations, corporate transactions, insolvencies, ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and the development and documentation of pension and employee benefit plans and related investment products, funding and custody arrangements. She has written and spoken across Canada and internationally on a wide range of topics in the areas of pensions and employee benefits. Caroline is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association, the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute, and the Ontario Bar Association.
Element Financial Corporation acquired the assets and operations of PHH Arval, PHH Corporation's North American fleet management services business, for a purchase price of US$1.4 billion in cash. Element also assumed PHH's obligations under the PHH fleet securitization programs in the US and Canada.
