Michael Allen has over 48 years of practice. He has developed a broadly based national and international practice in infrastructure (P3), corporate and project finance, and banking law. He regularly acts for both lenders and borrowers in Canadian and international project finance. This has included transactions in North, South, and Latin America; Africa; Russia; Australia; the Asia-Pacific region; and the Caribbean. His industry sector experience includes infrastructure, mining, energy, forestry, chemicals, and telecommunications. He continues to receive national and international recognition in legal publications. Michael practised for a number of years in his native Toronto before relocating to Vancouver, and is called to the Bar in British Columbia, Ontario, and England and Wales.
On February 22, 2018, Infrastructure Ontario, reached financial close with EllisDon Infrastructure NTC General Partnership to design, build, finance and maintain the New Toronto Courthouse Project.
The Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford Project reached financial close on August 27, 2015, when Access Prairies Partnership (APP) entered into a Project Agreement with the Province of Saskatchewan (Province) for an integrated mental health hospital and correctional facility.
On December 16, 2014, the City of Saskatoon signed a project agreement with Integrated Team Solutions SCOC Partnership, a consortium comprised of EllisDon Capital Inc. and Fengate Capital Management, on behalf of Fengate Greenfield Infrastructure Fund L.P. and Toronto Electrical Workers Infrastructure Fund L.P., to design, build, finance and maintain the Saskatoon Civic Operations Centre.
On December 17, 2014, Parq Holdings Limited Partnership, a joint venture between Dundee Corporation, Paragon Gaming, Inc. and PBC VUR Limited Partnership, completed a US$415 million project financing for the development of a world-class urban resort and casino in Vancouver, British Columbia (the Resort).
On November 26, 2014, Trillium Health Partners (Trillium) and Infrastructure Ontario reached Financial close with Walsh Infrastructure Credit Valley, Ltd. (Walsh) to build and finance the Credit Valley Hospital Priority Areas Redevelopment Project, located in Mississauga, Ontario.
