Toby Allan is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s Business Law group in Calgary. His practice focuses on corporate finance and securities law matters. He also specializes in private and public mergers and acquisitions. Toby advises issuers and dealers on varied debt and equity financings, including public and private, and domestic and cross border financings. He has worked on medium term note financings, sustainability-linked note financings, hybrid debt, and common and preferred share offerings. In addition, Toby assists cross-border and domestic clients with plans of arrangement, takeover bids, and share and asset purchases and sales. Along with this, Toby advises public issuers with securities reporting and compliance obligations as well as corporate governance issues. He has acted as a corporate secretary for a variety of companies. Toby was called to the Alberta bar in 2002.
