Julie is Co-Chair of Blakes’ award winning Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment group. Ranked as one of Canada’s Most Influential lawyers, she is on the cutting edge of guiding businesses and investors under the Competition Act and Investment Canada Act, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions. Julie is ranked in all leading directories as one of the top competition lawyers in Canada, and as one of the world’s top 100 Women in her field. In 2023 she was shortlisted for Dealmaker of the Year at the Global Competition Review Awards. Clients value her concise and pragmatic approach, noting she is “very bright, experienced and makes the trickiest regulatory filings easy to understand with her practical and commercially-minded advice.” Julie is a recognized thought leader. She has been active in the ABA’s Section of Antitrust Law for more than a decade and currently co-chairs the Foreign Investment and National Security Committee.
